01Tenancy
Multi-tenant by default
Row-level RBAC enforced at the query layer. One Databrain instance powers thousands of tenants, so every client, business unit, or legal ops team sees only their own data.
Legal analytics
Give legal teams interactive dashboards for contract timelines, counsel spend, and workloads. Keep every insight inside your contract management or legal ops platform.

01Tenancy

02Brand
Custom theming, your domain, your logo, fonts, and colors, down to the chart palette. End users never see Databrain.
03Analytics
Define contract cycle time, renewal rate, spend under management, or any custom KPI against your own schema. Real-time, not nightly.
04AI
Legal ops teams type a question and get a dashboard. Grounded in your data, not a generic model.
Show me contracts renewing in the next 30 days by business unit
SELECT business_unit, COUNT(*) AS renewing_contractsFROM contracts WHERE renewal_date BETWEENCURRENT_DATE AND CURRENT_DATE + 30 GROUP BY 105Security
Tenant isolation, row-level access, SSO, audit trails, and compliance controls are enforced before every legal query runs.
Example metrics:
Example: cycle time by contract type and a renewal pipeline, defined against your own contract data. Not a pre-built template, your team builds this against your schema.
Example: matter status and spend under management, with per-client data isolation. This is the pattern SpotDraft built with Databrain for its own customers.
Example: budget versus actual by firm and matter, built against your own spend data, so General Counsel sees variance without waiting on finance.
Example: expiring contracts and obligation risk flagged ahead of deadlines, built against your contract data model, not a generic compliance module.
Example: approval cycle time by deal stage, built against your own approval workflow data, so sales ops and legal can see where deals stall.

Customer story

“We now offer our customers extensive insights out of the box, sparing them the pain of creating their own metrics, all while ensuring they have a seamless experience.”

Legal Analytics
Legal ops teams want cycle time and renewal rate visible by contract type inside the CLM they already log into, not tracked in a spreadsheet.
Built for Legal Ops & CLM product teams
Legal SaaS platforms want customer-facing reporting on matter status and spend, without building it from scratch or waiting on engineering.
Built for Legal SaaS & client-facing portals
General counsel teams want budget-versus-actual by firm and matter visible immediately, not after waiting on finance to pull a report.
Built for Legal Ops & General Counsel teams
Compliance and contracts teams want expiring contracts and obligation risk flagged ahead of the deadline, not discovered after it.
Built for Compliance & Contracts teams
Sales ops and legal teams want approval cycle time by deal stage surfaced in real time, so bottlenecks get fixed before they stall a deal.

Legal analytics software has two meanings. Litigation analytics tools mine court records for patterns in judges, firms and case outcomes, while for CLM, contract management and legal ops platforms it means reporting on contract cycle time, renewals, obligations, matter status and outside counsel spend. Databrain serves the second kind, letting legal tech SaaS vendors such as SpotDraft embed white-labeled, multi-tenant dashboards of that data inside their own product.
A CLM analytics dashboard usually shows contract volume and cycle time from request to signature by contract type, approval bottlenecks by stage, renewals and expirations due in the next 30 to 90 days, obligation deadlines, and spend under management or outside counsel spend by firm. In Databrain these are metrics your team defines against your own contract schema and then embeds per customer, so every client sees the same definitions applied to its own contracts.
Databrain lets a CLM platform share metrics without exposing documents by querying only the fields you choose to model. Your team builds a datamart with the columns dashboards need, such as dates, status, value and counterparty, and hides the rest. Each embed is scoped to one customer by a server-issued guest token, and per embed you choose whether users only view dashboards or can also create metrics. End-user report creation is part of the Enterprise plan.
Databrain is SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR compliant, has completed VAPT testing, and has ISO 27001 certification in progress, with live status on trust.usedatabrain.com. Dashboards query your database through a read-only connection, every embed is scoped to one tenant by a server-issued token, and SSO is available on Pro (OAuth) and Enterprise (SAML). Legal tech teams that must keep everything in their own environment can self-host Databrain on the Enterprise plan.
SpotDraft, an AI-driven contract management platform, replaced Looker with Databrain to put customer-facing reporting inside its own product instead of an external link, and went live in four weeks. Its published case study puts the savings at $300K and 9 months of engineering effort. SpotDraft's product manager says customers now get "extensive insights out of the box" without having to create their own metrics.
Yes, Databrain lets legal ops users ask questions in plain English when you enable Chat Mode in the embed. A user asks something like "contracts renewing in the next 30 days by business unit", and Databrain writes SQL against your structured contract data, runs it with the same tenant filter as dashboards on table- and database-based tenancy, and returns a chart. It queries database fields, not contract text, so it complements AI contract review rather than replacing it.
