Business intelligence for your teams

AI business intelligence on governed data

An AI agent and an MCP server that answer from one semantic model on your warehouse, with the governance to decide who sees what.

  • Dashboards and answers

Dashboards that update from your warehouse, and an agent that answers questions in plain English from your semantic model, with the SQL a click away.

  • Roles for every user

Admins, editors and viewers on every plan, and viewers are free. Business adds configurable roles and permissions with single sign-on.

  • Share and schedule

Share dashboards with colleagues, and from the Team plan, send scheduled reports and alerts to the people who need the numbers.

  • Row and column security

On Business, row and column security decides what each person can see, in dashboards and in the agent's answers.

What your data team gets

One governed layer on the warehouse you already run, and three ways for everyone else to use it.

Connect your warehouse, then keep it healthy

Read-only connections to Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, PostgreSQL and more. Databrain queries your data live instead of copying it.

Data Studio runs health checks across your tables, columns and sources, and recommends fixes before a wrong number reaches a meeting.

Dashboards without SQL

Build dashboards with drag and drop from the metrics your data team has defined, choosing from 40+ chart types.

Analysts who prefer code can write custom SQL or Python on the same dashboard.

Three ways to use it

Each team gets its numbers the way it works:

Dashboards

Live dashboards that show every team the same numbers, from the same definitions.

Ask the agent

Ask in plain English and get an answer from your semantic model, within your own access.

Follow up, or save the chart as a metric.

Scheduled reports

Email selected charts to the people who need them, on the schedule you choose, without anyone logging in.

Connecting a model is the easy part

  • One set of definitions

"Active customer" means the same thing in every answer, dashboard and report, whichever model or tool produced it.

  • The same permissions for agents and people

Row and column security, roles and SSO apply to the Databrain agent the same way they apply to people: it answers within the access of the person asking.

  • A healthy pipeline

Data Studio finds what broke in your tables, columns and sources, and recommends a fix before a wrong number reaches a meeting.

  • Your model and your tools

Use the model access every plan includes, or the provider your security team approved. Builders keep Claude Code, Cursor and their own agents through the MCP server.

Bring your favorite data source

Read-only connections to the databases and warehouses you already run.

  • PostgreSQL
  • MySQL
  • Snowflake
  • BigQuery
  • Redshift
  • MongoDB
  • DynamoDB
  • Elasticsearch
  • S3

How Databrain works for your teams

Four steps from a read-only connection to answers your teams can trust.

  1. Connect

Connect your warehouse or database with read-only access. Your data stays where it is.

  2. Define

Draft your semantic model from your warehouse with AI, then approve each metric definition.

  3. Govern

Set roles and permissions for every workspace, and on Business, row and column security and single sign-on.

  4. Ask and share

Publish dashboards to your teams, let people ask the agent, and connect Claude Code or Cursor through the MCP server.

AI business intelligence FAQ

What is AI business intelligence?

AI business intelligence is business intelligence where an AI agent does the analysis: people ask questions in plain language, and the agent finds the right data and metrics, runs the queries and explains the result, instead of an analyst building every report by hand. The answers are only useful if they are consistent and correctly permissioned, so in Databrain the agent answers from a semantic model your team defines, within the permissions of the person asking, with row and column security, roles and SSO on the Business plan. Dashboards and scheduled reports run on the same definitions, and builders can reach them from Claude Code or Cursor through the MCP server.

Can I use Databrain for internal analytics?

Yes. Connect a warehouse or database, define your metrics once in the semantic model, and your teams use them through dashboards, the Databrain agent and scheduled reports. Builders can reach the same model from Claude Code or Cursor through the MCP server. If you later want analytics inside your product, the Enterprise plan puts the same layer there.

Can we connect ChatGPT or Claude to our data ourselves?

Yes, and for one person exploring their own data, that can be enough. Databrain is for when the answers reach other people. It keeps one set of definitions for every agent, answers each person within their own row and column security, roles and SSO, runs health checks across the pipeline, and can put the same governed data in front of your customers. Your builders keep their own tools: the MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor and your own agents query it.

Do we have to replace Power BI or Tableau to use Databrain?

No. Databrain reads the same warehouse as Power BI, Tableau or Looker, so the two can run side by side. You can start with the questions your dashboards do not answer, through the agent, and move dashboards over later onto the same connection and metric definitions.

Can we use our own AI model?

Yes. Every plan includes model access from Databrain, and every plan can also connect the model provider your security team has approved, such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini. If you bring your own model, your provider bills the model usage.

How do you control who can see or edit internal dashboards?

Databrain uses role-based access control: workspace members are Admins, Editors or Viewers, and the Business and Enterprise plans add configurable roles and permissions, row and column security and single sign-on. The Databrain agent answers each person within that same access. Shared dashboard links carry an expiry time you choose, and administrators can review activity in the audit logs, which record authentication events and administrative actions.

Can Databrain send scheduled reports to my team?

Yes. Databrain's report scheduler emails selected charts from a dashboard on the recurring frequency you choose, using the email settings configured for your workspace. On Solo, reports and alerts go to you; from the Team plan, they go to the teammates and stakeholders you list, so people who only need the numbers get them without logging in.

Does adding more internal users increase the price?

Adding viewers does not, because viewers are free on every Databrain plan. Internal plans are priced per builder seat plus usage. Solo is $39 per month with one builder seat, Team is $199 per month with three (more at $75 each, up to ten), and Business is $3,125 per month with ten builder seats, SSO and roles. Agent work uses credits: each question in the app, call through the MCP server or API, or scheduled run uses 1. Solo includes 500 a month, Team 3,000 and Business 25,000, and work beyond that is metered. Reading an existing dashboard or result uses none. Paying annually takes 20% off Solo, Team and Business, and every plan starts with a 14-day free trial.
